Hey all, first post, and might I add Great site going here!! I mounted my CB on the roof of my cab (inside truck..LOL ceiling I guess), works great, excellent access, hid the wires in the winshield rubber, If I get a chance tomorrow I'll post a pic...use it for communication if I have problems while plowing, (base station at home:president Hr2510) no cellular service in this area of the great white north...Eh!

Now take it to a CB shop and have it tuned and peeked. I have a Uniden PC76XL and it has had a little work done, super tuned, Connex board, been peeked as high it will go, and I have to use an external speaker (do to the work done) Texas Ranger, and a RK56 mic. I'm putting out about 65 watts, and it looks pretty. I do like my play toys!

I'm looking at getting the Midland 75-822 so I can move it from one vehicle to the next and use it as a walkie talkie too. Looks like a nice unit. Anyone have any experience with one?

I dont hve a base setup anymore...every Trucker that came through fora long time would only be worried about talking stupid ****. The ones from out of state were really interested in Gay folks...seems to be their favorite subject. Funny that they love soo much to talk about someones sexual preference, since they were not sure whether or not their momma was really their second cousin or not. Used to tell them that their eyes were a little too close together to be talking **** about other people.

Do you mean sideband or skip?
I get plenty of skip on AM channels 19 and 20 on this Stryker. Check out my setup. 1984 Chevy C30 crew cab.

Here is a picture of me infuriating my wife. The truck was only a few months old when I did this.

I cut the dash in my truck to fit a radio. As big as modern trucks are, there is little room for aftermarket radios.

I did think this thru before I did it. I cut nothing structural, and had replacement dash pieces to put the truck back to appearing stock and unmodified.
