Nope...No way is it ever going to work again after sittin' for 10 years. Way TOO long for any vehicle. So just have it shipped over here to me.... aka...."Mike's GM Square Hospice House" and I will gently help it move on to the next life!! What are friends for...Right! lol:party52:

Short squirt of WD-40 in each bore. Doesn't take much, capillary action will get it pretty much all the way around the bore.
I would mark and pull the distributor and re-prime it so you don't have dry lifters on dry cam lobes.
Swap the gas and fire it up!

If you'll watch some of the RoadKill shows, they've fired up some engines that have sat for twice this long with no issues.

I did the same with PB blaster. pulled the plugs, sprayed each piston and let if sit for a week. sprayed a few times during the week. engine would then turn. put a starter, fuel pump and used a plastic gas tank for fuel. Put new plugs in too and cleaned the disco and rotor. After some cranking it fired up. you can't believe all of the debris that came out of the exhaust. it sat in a field for 10+ years.

You should see what has happened here in California. There are almost ZERO American cars left on the road, so yes, I am sensitive about that.

Don't listen to scrappers. If your engine is free, yes you can put it back on the road. You might have to rebuild the brake system, and your pinion shaft and axle shaft seals might go, but your engine should be fine.

You apparently don't know where you are or what you are talking about.

Dude, it was obviously a joke. Like the truck is most likely fine and they are jokingly saying "oh, no you should just send it to me"

sorry for dragging the post further off topic;

the reason so many members said 'scrap and send it to ME' is that USED to be a very common phrase.

it was ALWAYS intended to the person posing the question, that whatever they had, it was worth the responder's effort/money to have it and love on it.

if you venture to any other forum on any other topic, you WILL encounter this response again.

to translate into another verbage:

'sounds like you've got something i'd put time/effort into in a heartbeat'.

finally :), this forum has been around awhile. you might try 'reading the room' before you take offense at 49 other states and several other countries.

back to the OP:

shoot, sounds like way more trouble than it's worth. send it to me and i'll get that eyesore out of your sight!
;)
