Must be the same valve covers they bought for my 77 when the engine was rebuilt. It doesn’t have an 710 cap. Or an oil cap lol.
I didn’t even notice it when I bought the truck and recently changed the oil for the first time and was like ???
Yes it’ll pour in thru a breather hole.

I only mentioned the slow fill because I didn't want to tell him "yeah, it'll be fine" and then he had a slow fill, lol. It's not very often it happens, but it can happen, so I mentioned it.

Hey whatever works! A beater engine is a beater engine lol. Not knockin ya, I had a daily that I added oil when it started clattering, because the engine vibrations broke the dipstick tube off in the block and I was NOT gonna do that job lol

Looks like our PO drilled a couple holes in the breather side baffle. I do know breather filter was pretty dirty/oily.
I don't have a pic of baffle side.

Thanks guys! I guess I’ll just have to wait a minute or two longer when filling up with oil. Good thing it only gets changed every 10,000 miles anyway…. ;)
You are NEVER supposed to go 10,000 miles between oil changes, unless you really like frequently rebuilding your engine.

That’s what new car manufacturers claim on their cars. I was using it as a joke because it’s SO unreal. Rebuilding engines is something I enjoy though! Still would never let any engine get past 3,000 without an oil change just to have an excuse to rebuild it.

How slow was it? It’s not a problem for me to wait a minute or two more when filling oil but just wondering.
