"Nice sounding engine. Bet it goes like stink heh ? LOL" Ya its a little quick Putting it in my truck though in a few months so I can build the big block that's in it. I need my truck to stay mobile more than my hot rod. The big block will idle like that too when I am done.
Rich has a good point about longevity. A high lift cam can have some draw backs. One cam you might consider would be comp cams 300HP replica cam. It should have a little rougher idle that an RV cam and be way easy on the valve train. I would still run some Z28 springs with it though due to it having a 5,500 RPM red line. It would work fine with your low compression to. I would get a thin head gasket to raise it just a little when you do your cam swap. Its a good time to lap the valves anyways.
