.I am trying to navigate the GM parts manual to obtain part numbers.

JB3 = 18010336 and 37
JB5 = 18010201 and 02

at least as released for the 1984 model year in March of 1983.

Maybe from the factory, but not in aftermarket. The prop valve that was in the faulty hybrid setup works perfectly in the homogeneous system.
Or, IS there a prop valve for a mixed system??

No - there is no "mixed" system.

Only the combinations shown on the chart above were released for production.

I can't control or comment on what happens in the aftermarket.

What really piques my curiosity is.....how did the truck get this way in the first place??

Excellent question -

Not on the C10.....but.... I HAD one!
I recall seeing that that setup DID exist on G10 vans.

G van is a different animal. A G10 is lighter duty than a C10

G20 => C10

G30 => C20

I'm not seeing it.

Sounds like maybe the production information did not flow down into the service information correctly. Or they didn't get the coverage right when creating the fewest number of service parts to cover the proliferation of available model/option content.

Can you post a pic of your SPID?

Wish I had the sticker...that would have cleared up a LOT !

The guy I purchased it from pretty much bought it and parked it.
It sat for about 10 years before I rescued it.
No mention of a braking problem, and I was not able to drive pre purchase.
But, I cannot imagine that this problem existed all along, and with the majority of
[arts being KB5, I would have to think that the entire rear axle was replaced with the JB3 brakes on it.

That would be my thought as well.

Depending on how curious you are, you can send your VIN (and $50) to the GM Heritage Center and they can pull your original invoice, which would include build timing, dealer info, original option content and pricing.

It would look something like this:

Yup. I knew that, thanks!
At this time I value the $50.00 more.
After all, the truck is what it is regardless as to how it was built.........

It is also interesting to note that, having tried almost every method of bleeding the brakes,
the ONLY method that achieves good pedal pressure was gravity bleeding!
