My friend always had z34s, usually red. I think he had a euro too.

I had two red ones, a black one and a white one. The white one was a 5-speed, but unfortunately it was just a parts car that was smashed in the front.

@DoubleDingo were they using Dana 60's in half tons then? Or is that a Dana 44?
My guess is it's a Salisbury.

As stated in the book, the Dana 60 did come with half tons but they had the 396 v8 and is a semi-float. The 3/4 tons are full-float, and I have a Dana 60 full-float.

Do you think that illustration of the Salisbury axle is accurate? Looks like it has 9 cover bolts. The Dana axle has 10, like what appears to be in the blurry photo in the ad.

Also, I did not know the 396 was available in those trucks. Cool!

Didn't see that, and I don't know if I've ever saw a Salsibury in the wild. I also didn't catch it being a GMC instead of Chevy. Looking at the GMC portion of the book it shows different axles than the Chevy section that I shared. The GMC section doesn't have the exploded views. Is Spicer a Dana?

I apologize @bucket for not having more information, I will admit to my ignorance on the subject of the half ton axles in these 60s trucks, and definitely more ignorant in regards to the GMC trucks

Dana and Spicer became the same company at some point, but I don't know when. Google, here I come...

I might have to go look at that axle and see if it's a 60. I think it would be cool to stick it under my stepside C10, to replace the 2.56 geared 10 bolt.

That's some good info and history as to how the company evolved and morphed.

It's worth looking at. I wonder if the wheel spacing is similar? May be narrower. I bet it's 3.73.

I am assuming the width is similar since the stepside beds were the same.
