Those things are so fukin ugly, but I'd sure as hell own one. $1500 seems like a real good deal for that even if it don't run.

We had friends that had one of the 4 door models. I hated that damn thing. Now today, I'd love to have one. Those AMC's, you never knew what you'd get in them. They were a mix of GM, Ford and Chrysler parts. Could have been a Ford inline 6 with a GM HEI ignition system and a Torqueflight Dodge transmission. If I had one, I'd put a Small Block Chevy in it with an NP208 or NP241C. IIRC, they were passenger side drop also.

A buddy of mine bought one of the 2 door hatchback models for a winter ride in high school. The body was spotless. Had the GM 2.5 4 banger, with a 4 speed manual trans. It went 0 -60 in about 4 days, but I'd kill to find one in that condition now.
