I think HEI became standard in the mid- late 70s.

292 powered trucks also got the thicker frame.

For real? Differant frame part # for a 292? I mean sure the 292 is a torquey bastard hard to kill, but it doesn't have more torque than a Fo Fitty Fo.

Yeah, HEI was standard in some 74 models, and some 75 models. By 76 all were HEI. Go ahead and try to find a I6 Dizzy in HEI. Feel sorry for whoever buys this truck if it needs a new Dizzy. You find it, its Expensive. It can be found, but you'll pay dearly.

I was looking through the gm heritage files and it shows a thicker frame for the 292 trucks vs. the 350 trucks.

Really? Rockauto is showing them for a little over $100...

Ahhh ****, so maybe I am smoking crack. Trying to remember what it was that I was selling. A guy offered me chump change for just this part off of it, and I said NO cuz if it was that hard to come by, then my odds of selling the item without for what I need out of it, is next to impossible. WTH was it? I was almost certain is was the HEI dizzy off of a I6 Integral Head 250. I'll let you know if I remember what that item was. I thought he was BSing and I looked it up myself, and he was right.

This is 1996 GMC 1500 Blazer police interceptor 6.0 turbo Diesel. These models were specially built By GMC for the military as prototypes to try and replace the Hummer. The engine and transmission are in great condition, Get's 40 miles to the gallon.

New one on me...And 40 MPGs? That is laughable.

Ohhhhhhhh ********, and Police Interceptor too. :shitsweak::roflbow::roflbow::roflbow:

I have heard of the half ton squares getting about 17-18 w 6.2. I have heard that from a few guys on another forum. I'd beleive these guys too. I also know they drive gently too so that probably helps.

I've gotten about 17.5mpg with my 305/700R4/3.08s on a 200 mile trip.

Once.

Going downhill with the wind behind you with the driver door open and kicking a leg like riding a skateboard???
