Another thing I see on there occasionally is someone who has a "rebuilt" engine they are trying to un load on someone for 500 bucks. For all you know the person who rebuild it never checked bearing clearances and just ordered a bunch of **** and threw it together. Even if they broke one of the rings not knowing what their doing, it will be a headache later on.

Me and 89 are in about the same boat, im just going to limp my 305 as long as possible and try to find some area to rebuild another motor and transmission in.

That's actually cheap for a later cluster. Bet you a dollar it sells for upwards of $300+

Yes, but it is a 1981-87 style which works better and more accurate and I don't need the speedo from that as I will be using a 1990-91 electric speedo. :waytogo:

Or i could use that face and have Sally Field say "Are we going a hundred and ten? We're going a hundred and ten!" while she's looking at the KM side of the speedo.

I guess they aren't cheap. Value of anything is only what someone is willing to pay. I'd think for $300, I'd put in an aftermarket dash and have a tach that would go up to 8,000 rpm, as if the vehicles I wanted a tach in, would be hipo motors and I'd need a 6,000 minimum for a big block and 7,000 for small block.

I would go with a Dakota dash like Old77, but you know me, I plan to use as many GM parts as possible, so it's factory stock I will go. :D

Is there a GM factory digital dash that you could swap in? Might require some mod to the dash or cluster to fit but might be worth thnking about. I, for one, love my Dakota Digital gauges!! :) but like you said you're trying to stick with factory options from other GMs

I have a set of these...

You must be registered for see images attach

But tearing them apart to put in a SB would render them unusable.

But they sure look sweet and fit perfectly in a 1966-67 Chevelle.
