It was more a stress reliever thing on a Sunday to get my mind off work.

I’ll just hit it with #7 again since I have it.

I seriously am thinking about getting some rattle cans mixed to match and hitting the roof, hood, and top of the front fenders.

I did something similar to a truck I had, it was very badly oxidized and took many hours and steps to bring the paint back to a shine. I didnt use sand paper but what I started with was a wool pad and a buffing compound that was closer to being sand than polish. next was a different wool pad and less solid compound, then a foam pad and normal compound followed by a foam pad and polish style compound. You should try that process on the roof and see if any paint is salvageable.

No bs this is how the difference looked on my truck without any painting.

I would and was hoping that but that gray is just primer. The paint is burned through from the sun.

Too bad the previous owner never waxed it.

You can actually polish a turd.

Went ahead and hit it again and waxed it. All in good practice. I definitely would suggest a smaller buffer than the 7 inch nice one I got. Even a 3 inch would have worked better. I’ll do some hand work outside in better light.

Anyway this will hold me over till I paint it I guess.

Nice job! It's a lot of work but worth it in the end.

It looks awesome!!! How about some shots outside in the sun? Not looking to degrade your work.
Just wanting to see the real potential to be had.

Great job man. Turned out super nice.

I would prefer that to a new paint job.

I can today.

Yeah I agree. I almost didnt wax it and was going to let it oxidate over again.

If I had a smaller buffer I would have got better results.

I have a couple rare cars I want to buff and basically learned on this one. It was trash.

It was quite a bit of work. It would have been faster if I knew what I was doing. Really wish I had a smaller buffer too.

I am going to detail the undercarriage and under hood next.

Nice work man. That's a real straight truck, looks good. Have you considered a smaller sander?

Ill get a smaller buffer.

Here are some day light pics before I washed it. The gravel on the ground is reflecting. You can still see some water streaks even after 1000 grit lol.

If my K10 looked that good I'd be happy. I'm in the process of removing a camo paint job to see if there's any savable paint underneath.
