Hey guys I jumped on this forum looking for help or any solutions if any. I have a 74 c10 stepside I'm restoring. It came from the factory with bucket seats low backs of course. I want to go high back with custom console. Now I've seen several bench to bucket conversion via adaptable brackets for trucks with BENCH seats. My floor has 4 A tabs 2 on each side in front and rear bolts holes in the rear shelf. Does anybody know what to do or have a truck similar to mine and what did they do for seats? I like the corbeau sport seats. I seen them in 74 c10 build up they wrote about. Thanks

If you want hibacks all you need to do is get 77 and up blazer seats. You can cover them as you wish and they will bolt right up. Mine are 82 regular cab buckets but they are the same as blazer buckets.

Buckets do not bolt straight up unless they came from a truck. Burbs and Blazers have different floor pan compare to the trucks.

Look at my build thread for ideas.

The seat is the same. The brackets are different. He can use the blazer seat with the truck brackets.

The factory highback Blazer/truck buckets are very comfy too. They feel much better than most (if not all) fancy modern seats if you ask me.

Yes but try finding truck brackets. Those are next to impossible to find.

Yes they are comfortable but in the cold they suck LOL.

Read the OPs post. He doesn't state that he doesn't have the factory seats.

Mine are cover in cloth so the cold aint so bad.

I swear I read it more than once. I didn't think our generation of trucks came with low backs and was only in the older trucks.

I actually installed a racing seat from O'Reilly Auto using L shaped metal with holes from Home Depot. I have a 73 C10 that came with a bench. I cut 2 pieces of metal to length and bolted them together to make a C. Only need to use on the inside slider to compensate for the height. Very comfy!!! Not sure how to post pics on here bug I will if someone walks me thru it.

If I could have that look in my c10 with the blue interior seats. If this feature was rare then why gm didn't produce more of this or rather don't produce any at all. I mean I searched everywhere from Ga to Montana and NOTHING. I would've thought the aftermarket guys would have stepped in and produced tracks or whole seats who want the oem look to their truck.

Bench seats were more common. Don't get me wrong I enjoy having my high back buckets but they also do have their downsides. Some days I do wish I should go back to a bench seat and other days I prefer having my buckets.

I paid $50 for my buckets with the console so I got a steal of deal and all told I'm about $100 into them with delivery and metal fabrication.

I like the idea of using a frame on the bench brackets to mount both on.
