Restoring a 1974 K10. Am wiring it now, and when I went to put the brake light switch on, I realized that the switch activate button wasn't even close to contacting the brake pedal lever. It's been so long since I took the truck apart, I can't remember how the switch got activated. Is there some other bracket that mounts to the pedal lever that makes it contact the switch button? If anybody can post a picture of how this works, I'd really appreciate it.

Thx a lot.

There should just be a small flat tab on the brake pedal arm, just right by the start of the bottom of the dash.

There should be an "L" shaped striker that is bolted on to the brake pedal arm. That striker is what makes contact with the brake switch button. When the brakes are in the released position (pedal is up), it pushes on the button and holds the switch contacts open. Depressing the pedal moves the striker away from the button which allows the contacts to close. Some images of the striker and install/adjust instructions from the 74 service manual:
