Think I figured this out.
The calipers are both 4.32 wide. The openings on the dust shields are 4.310. They are also powder coated so that should account for .010 - .012....but still. You'd think there would be more room to give than that. Didn't know we were assembling watches.
Also looks like the edge of the shield has a burr....not sharp, but like something from the original stamping. I'm going to wrap the rotors up tight to keep crud off them and use a burr ball to shave it down a bit.....then touch it up with POR or something midevil like that.
