Best headlights to use, NOT LED

I'm also running LMC's set, with Sylvania Silverstars and LMC's relay kit. Fit is decent, they work great! Well worth the money imho.

I bought the LMC relay wiring kit.

Bulbs are the Hella H4s, but with 55W low beam and 100W high beam. I work nights, so use headlights a lot. The high beam relays did go out after a few years. So I bought a handful of replacement relays to keep around.

I'm a roundeye though.

You can spend a lot on headlights but you cannot beat add on led floods when you need light. Less than 15 bucks delivered on amazon and flat amazing.

I know OP wanted only non LEDS but been down that road. I was looking hard for hi output non Leds for the new 54 body, None gave the light i needed for may aging eyes And $$ was almost outrageous. After trying several Leds and non LEDS i settled for nice halogens and was very disappointed. Added the cheapy add on leds for fun. For a try i went out on a moonless light and turned off the halogens and flipped on just the LEDs. Difference was shocking. Wired them up so LEDs only come one with brights and works amazingly/shockingly well. LEDs for stock can be super expensive and these were so cheap its embarrassing. If you can stand add on Leds try it and save your bucks. BTW the halogen flood are also very underwhelming..

I've got Hellas but they discontinued the low beams. Only seller I could find (and I bet I contacted 10+) that had it is in Oregon and sells on Amazon. That was it. If you see them on any site, contact them first and ask if they have them IN STOCK. If not, you'll waste weeks while they look for them.

Plan B is there are other brands that pop up on ebay that are serviceable. Cibies were by far the best ever made - and once in awhile you can buy their OEM offspring under the Valeo label.

If you do bag the Hellas, do yourself a favor and get some Xpel sheeting for them...saves them from sandblasting or the errant rock.

Thanks for the ideas guys. I just can’t stand the look of the led spot/flood lights on an older vehicle. I do have a set of super cheap yellow fog lights that take the H3 bulbs and they work well. Just switched them to led bulbs because the light still looks the same visually, but am unimpressed with their performance. I already have good relay power to my bumper for those lights. I may look for a good set of those instead and just replace my old and faded sealed beams and call it a day.

Mine has circle lights, so I will not be much help to the OP.
But, I had found a set of stock Jeep Wrangler headlights at the thrift store for $16 for the pair.
I just had to order a adapter to go from the stock light plug to the Jeep plug for another $8.
@Maxwellvis installed them when he needed a new light and they are much better than just putting in a new sealed beam.
Now it has H4 bulbs that we can replace with fancy ones if we wish too.
Plus they don't look out of place like some of the LED ones do.

It's worth it to do the relay kit as well. You won't melt your headlight switches anymore and I feel like you get more brightness.

I agree with this. I replaced mine with sylvania silverstars and they were not much better than stock and I was getting my vehicle voltage dropping when then headlights were on. I just put on a relay kit and they are WAY brighter and my voltage isn't dropping anymore.

Yeah but who cares? CA is collapsing and only the simple minded follow the rules anymore for anything. Why we left.

Does anyone have the part numbers for the sylvania lights? Uppers and lowers for the xtra vision ones if those are the best. TYIA, I want to make sure I'm ordering the right ones. Whatever the best relatively inexpensive option is that I can pickup in store this weekend. I'm on my first week of commuting with my new suburban and the stock lights are damn near useless. I did order the relay kit from the link posted above already.
