I looked at getting those for my '08 2500 before I settled on some bargain Hercules tires because I don't give a **** about that truck lol. But the tires you have seemed like the perfect blend of mud tire and highway rather than your average all terrain turf-saver type tire. I liked how knobby the outer rib was to dig through harsh terrain, but the inner rib is nice and straight so it can still go good on the highway.
Looks like your tire guy messed up though, go back there and tell him to put those whites out
For my square personally I have a set of General Grabber AT2's. They have almost an
identical tread pattern to the BFG AT's, but at like half the price. They are also similarly rated for wear, and one of the offroad mags said it actually performed slightly better than the BFG. Only drawback was that they were only white outline instead of big chunky raised white letter, but I decided the savings were worth it. Thgen a couple months later I discover the Generals now come in full raised white letter. So unless you really want that BFG name on your sidewall and are willing to pay several hundred dollars more just to have it, I don't see why anyone would actually buy the BFG over the General. Generals used to be considered a cheap **** tire, but have come a long way. I have had two sets of them on my 'Burb (31s and my current 33s) and I couldn't be happier with them. I got over 30k out of the 31s before I hit a ***** of angle iron in the road and blew one out, then decided the rest were close enough that I might as well replace them all, especially since the 31s were looking silly after the lift
