Hi everyone!
I finally got another square after some years without. I just found an amazing 86 c30 in south Carolina. I took the train down and drove it back home to New Jersey.
This is my 4th square body. My first one didn't last me long. It was a 78 short bed with 350/350 and 4.56 gears in a 12 bolt with a spool. I had it on the road 12 days than wrapped it around about three poles. I spent almost a year building it back in 97 when I was 17, built a 400 HP engine and it was a bad combination in the rain for an inexperienced driver.
I got my second one just a couple of days later. That was my baby, well not at first because it was a pile, and I mean pile! The funny thing about that truck was all of my friends owned it at one time or another. It mostly just sat in their yards for a couple of months till the next guy bought it. I got it for $150 and it ran so I drove it as is for about a year while I fixed up a 78 Camaro with the drive Tran out of my smashed truck. When I got the Camaro on the road I started to restore the 75 Cheyenne. I eventually converted it to 4WD and drove it until I got a really nice 2002 silverado in 06 and sold my 75 Cheyenne shortly after.
I also bought an 86 custom deluxe in the early 2000s but didn't have the time I thought I did to work on it.
Here's some pictures of the new beast!
It has almost no rust. It needs a lot of little things and I have big plans for other projects for it. Probably going to do the one pice front window conversion (don't crucifi me lol). In the next couple of weeks I'm going to replace the whole brake system, master cylinder, hoses, calipers, wheel cylinders...
Looking forward to being part of the forum
