im definitely not this ambitous but I figured out this rear end is a dana 60, it may even have 4.10 gears but its unknown to me yet if that casing or shaft strength is anything to match the ones you would refer to, especially in a front conversion(which im not doing lol)
Oh, you're talking rear axle. **** can that too. 14 bolt Full Floater swap.

No Im saying that 60 exists as a rear axle(looking to see if its up to ***** to be an f150 diff with modificiations so I can have lower rear ratio.... sincei t apparently was a HD 1/2ton truck axle back then, maybe with love it can be for a 96) But my joke was about people who make front axles out of rear ones or do full float kits etc

as in, use this d60 rear for a d60 front on a 3/4ton when its probably not large enough tube for the axle shaft remotely the axle splines and etc the strength of whatsi nside an the ___ basically not happening LOL

Doing U joints on my 1979 Chevy k10 pickup with a Dana44 spicer axle. Axle shafts came out fine but after I installed new U joints the bearing caps would not fit through the knuckle. The actual CV housings will fit without the U joints in, but after instal the bearing caps stick out to far to go though. I ordered proformer heavy duty universal joints from Napa. I tried pressing the bearing caps in farther resulting in both of them shattering. I want to know what U joints I need to order that will actually fit. I do not want to resort to a grinder. I seen MOOG carries U joints for my application but I do not want to bust a 25$ pair of U joints....

Please help, I’m sort of in a time crunch. If I need to order new axle shafts I will to skip the hassle. I’ve tried searching for someone who has had a similar problem....nothing. The stock U joint bearing caps fit flush with the axle shaft.

It's a 4wd thing for the front axle.
@devin bianco

Man I am lost completely! What axle shafts? Where? On the rear end?? You mean like a Jaguar rear end, that's what you have?? Yeah, I know what a Dana 44 rear end is, right? Where are axle u-joints on a C10 rear end?? The drive shaft u-joints for sure, but axle u-joints??? Can you post a pic. I've got to see this!
@82sbshortbed, I didn't know there was any kind of a u-joint like that. What application is that used on,with, of??
I was lost too since he said k10 and front axles have ujoints at the knuckles on the axleshafts?? I then read Raiders post and am like what were talking about a 2wd...when I was sure I saw k10 as well as the talking about axleshafts and knuckles.
