I'm looking for an auxiliary (drivers side) battery tray for the 73 C10. I've looked online and they are all on back order or for the 81 up.

You might be able to make an '81 or newer tray work. I looked at my '85 with dual batteries and the only difference I can see between it and my '74 are the stamped holes. Just a thought.

I tried the one I have from the 85 C10 that used to be a diesel. Couldn't get it to fit right unless I butcher it up, which I don;t want to do.

I have plenty of room for one.

IIRC, my aux battery tray is two pieces. The top tray piece is identical to the other side, but the support piece under it is different. However, the lower support piece for an ‘85 vs. a ‘73 is shaped differently, since the front fenders and trim changed. It’s only that lower support that is currently back ordered.

I might have to make the lower bracket if I can't find one.

They've been on backorder for years. I finally found one in the junkyard. It's doubtful I'll find another but if I do I'll grab it.

I started making a battery tray. I use the original computer mounting bracket that mounted to the firewall in the 2001 Silverado, trimmed some off that bracket, the tray from the passenger side and a piece of angle iron. Fit in good and will use self tapping screws to bolt to the fender.

Oh, okay. Then I need ot for my 85.

Is it the passenger side or the drivers side aux tray?

Looks to be the passenger side. I'll go out and check mine.
