Auto to Manual Tilt Column Modification

I would like a tilt column in my 84 C10.
I have a floor shift.
Is it possible and how involved it it to remove the shift collar from the auto steering column and replace w/manual collar ?
Is it doable at all??
Or, not worth the hassle??
Interesting to note that my '79 to '84 illustrated parts manual has NO '84 drawings whatsoever........

Been so long since I worked on these I am not 100%, but my thought is no, not readily doable.

My thought process is that the mast jackets are different.

The manual would not have a rotating shift bowl like the auto does, and you would also need the key release mechanism to do it OE style.

If I am wrong, hopefully someone will chime in.

Yessirree. Seen that one a while ago.
That cleans up the shifter nub OK.
I may have to go that route.

Got a (hopefully) good deal on an auto tilt column.
I may rework as above to remove shift lever bump and tack weld the shift lever at the bottom.
