It works with anything that is metal, steal or iron. Bike Frames, Fenders, intakes, blocks, heads, plumbing pipe, whatever your heart desires. BUT DO NOT USE THIS PROCESS ON ALUMINUM. It will literally disolve soft metals like gold or aluminum. So don't be doing a write up for us on your Edelbrock Air Gap intake or Carb. You put that stuff in this process, you go back to check it, the stuff will be gone. It will be disolved in the water. :roflbow:

Ok, I have a rusty 64 390 4bbl intake w/filler tube off a T-bird that I bought for 30 bucks. I wish they made metal tub/pan big enough to do a radiator support. Wait, They might at farm center.

Im not sure if you can use the big galvanized live stock watering tanks, unless you could just use the actual tank as your electrode. THoughts on this hot rod?

It would be sweet as hell to get one of those huge 5k gallon polly tanks that lay flat pancake style and cut the top out of it. You could strip entire fenders and maybe even cabs.

NO NO NO NO, whatever you use it can NOT be a conductor of electricity. Plastic is best. Like a 5 gallon bucket, or a what I used a 55 gallon poly drum. I'd imagine Dave could use and old fibreglass bathtub or a steel one if its porcelain coated with no chips to allow the water to get to the steel. I think I'd avoid that one if possible. Plastic, Poly, Fibreglass, etc, No metal at all for your tank.

You mean 55 gallon poly drum??? That's what I use. You can buy them here for $3 a piece. Just have to clean them out. And they are easy to clean. If usually got detegerents or stuff like that in them from a coin op car wash. Not hard to clean at all. I used them for gasoline for awhile and they worked great. Don't even think to ask why I needed them for gas, I'll never tell.

I can get a plastic bath tub and I have metal bath tub. I dont think they make storage tubs big enough for a radiator support to lay flat.

What I can use is one of these plastic water tank that has a drain valve on it. Not very picture but its 4ft tall by 3ft wide square.

No I mean the big 5k gallon tanks, My parents have one in an under ground room that feeds the house with water. Thats what us rednecks do without city plumbing.......

Right after the twin tower tragedy my dad was convinced we would need our own fuel supply for some reason. So we had steel 55 gallon drums full of gasoline and stabil with a small electric fuel pump. It was actually more convenient having the fuel at home before going anywhere, I might look into buying bulk and stashing it in my garage in the future.

Right now and the past 10 years its been a 5k gallon water tank in a room underground with the water pump and other gear so it does not freeze. We always filled it with one of those poly tanks that fits in the back of a pickup bed. We just drive about a mile to a community spring and fill it up and unload it into the house tank. Besides the 100% pure water in Demming NM this is the best water for drinking.

My Dad is working on ramping up the water system, about 6 years ago he found a MASSIVE steel water tank, this thing must be 20 feet tall with a Diameter of 15 feet. My dad had his buddy with a backhoe dig a hole to submerge it half way in the ground so it can lay on its side uphill a little from the house. His plan is to put gutters around the house and shop to catch all the monsoon rain and drain it into the huge tank for everything besides drinking water.

Every year he has a big garden that uses alot of water, so for now he has a big galvanized cattle trough under the drain for the house gutters he uses for the garden, really neat system.

Dude being a redneck is so fun, I've had to haul water since I was 14. Now its just fun to grab a couple cold ones and take a little trip through country when I visit.

Cool, never heard of it. My dad lives in very rural land, and he even has city water. A very very long pipe to get it, but he figured living on a hill it would be a very deep dig for a well. So for the money he decided to run miles of pvc.

I wouldn't use copper coil, just stick a piece of rebar in there long enough to stick up out of the water and clip your wire on there. If your wire is submerged it will corrode quickly and the process will diminish or stop. Just make sure the rebar doesn't touch the part you're working on.

You should go back and carefully read this whole thread, this can be dangerous if done wrong. I'm beginning to believe we need a legal disclaimer on this thread: "If you blow yourself up trying this, it's your own ass!"
