As far as I know it’s an original hood. It had the horrible bleaching of the paint and edges as the roof. Also, the wear from sand blowing over the edges.

It's a replacement hood. Probably a GM hood, but it has the style line on the front that started in '79. It also has peeling clearcoat, GM didn't start base/clear until the mid-late 80's and it started with cars first.

Here is an 87 V20 that I sold a few years ago. Was one of the most original lowest mileage trucks I ever had. Kick myself sometimes but I know the guy who has it and it exactly the same as the day I sold it to him.

Thanks for the info. I am by no means an expert on these things. I love to ratchet and tinker. Thus I wanted a pre-smog control vehicle.

The little bump out on the front makes it an 80 hood IIRC.

I would love to have that dash and that Steering wheel. That wood grain looks awesome. How much do they want for the truck?

Mines an original 1980 k10 350/350/205.

Except engine has been swapped , different trans, I am pretty sure passenger door is a repop, seat has been recovered. It's been painted a few times. Had a bunch of different sets of tires on it, spark plugs changed I'm sure as all the ignition parts and probably most of the accessories. It's a Silverado so it has lots of extras, but the passenger window motor has been swapped. All cab weather stripping in door and entry has been replaced. The grill is out of a 79, brakes have been replaced, wheel cylinders, at least one caliper. One hub was replaced by me as well cause it stripped out. Previous owner did a hack of a radio install, headliner was redone. I pulled all the body trim, bed rails and tailgate band.

Sooo I guess it's not too original after all?o_O:happy175:

That color reminds me of my grandpa's 79 C10 when I was a kid. His was exactly the color but he put a seat cover on the original seat like one of those saddle blanket set covers.

That one has had the seat reupholstered. Fits real nice and looks good, but wrong pattern material.
