Vehicular theft in our area is at an all-time high, with an average of 81 cars/trucks being stolen daily in two neighboring Washington State counties. Many of these are older classics. I understand that nothing is an absolute solution, but I felt that I had to do what I can to thwart any effort.

Installed an Omega Excalibur AL-1575 alarm system with door pin and hood pin triggers, and glass break detection. Sounds alarm/horn and flashes lights. Installed a Painless Performance remote starter disconnect with latching solenoid with hidden switch in cab. Fabricated and installed a remote hood lock with hidden push/pull handle in cab. Cut ½” aluminum tube with rubber capped ends to sit in rear sliding window tracks. Installed Gorilla acorn open end wheel locks. Locking gas cap.

Here are a few pics…..

Sounds like you have it covered. I live in an area of Michigan where I don't lock mine half the time but I suspect that will bite me in the Ass one day.

Yeah it’s bad and not gonna get better around here…ever. I’ll keep the politics out of it but you know what I’m talkin aboot….
Have seen several stolen squares posted just on FB.
You done about all you can do to prevent it. That’s all you can do.

I put a deadman switch in the square as well. But I’ve got it set up where the truck will start and run normally. For about 20-30 seconds, then it will die.
My theory was A. It was easy to do and literally cost about $10. And B. I feel if someone boosts a vehicle and “gets away” and then it suddenly and unexpectedly dies on the road and won’t restart (But it will crank and sputter like it wants to start…), that they will most likely abandon the vehicle. And since it will likely be sitting on a public roadway with traffic or possibly blocking traffic, the chances of the cops showing up is 100x greater than if they were called about a missing vehicle. Because they won’t do **** about a stolen car except say hope you have good insurance….
I also think it’s best to not make the vehicle difficult to break into or start. Because that just causes more damage to the vehicle…and ultimately will do little to stop a halfway decent car thief.
Now wheels, I hadn’t considered that. I gots 2 mortgage payments worth of tires and wheels on it! Need to slap some locking lug nutz on it.

Another thing is an air tag or gps. If everything else fails.

Pretty sad we have to go to these lengths to keep our stuff in our possession.
Looks like you've done about everything you can to keep the regular theives out. Appears a tow truck will be the only way to get it outta the area quick.
