Amazon TIG welders?

Anyone have one? I’ve never tig welded. But, you can get a Yeswelder 145 for a $100. The reviews all look decent. I mainly want to weld exhaust and small brackets. They have a bunch of models from 145 amp and up. Thanks

my biggest concern would be dc vs ac tig. Dc is hotter and usually much cheaper machines. Ac is necessary for smaller stuff and aluminum welding

These machines don’t do aluminum. But, I would they could do exhaust tubing.

My 2 cents worth for new TIG welder is not to begin with a “scratch start” machine, and, once you start TIG welding you will likely yearn for more abilities, like welding aluminum.

You will also need an argon cylinder. If it doesn't come with high freq start, you'll want that (a foot pedal or torchmount switch). As mentioned, it won't weld aluminum (need ac current for that).
If you're doing the occasional thing, this might suit. If you want to make things on a regular basis, I wouldn't expect it to last long. Also I wouldn't attempt more than 3/16" thick material for anything that has to be strong.

For a machine that is that inexpensive, I would purchase the protection plan.
That way you can at least get a fresh one when something goes sideways on it.

Not sure about the ones on amazon, but I bought a cheapo from Harbor Freight and have no regrets (Titanium line). Its a flux core inverter welder that can do most jobs for an amateur (me) like welding exhaust and some floor patches. I'd recommend going for the welder. If you get really good with it and really get a passion for welding, thats when it would be worth while to upgrade. But ultimately, the cheap welders will do what you're looking for.

I waited years, found a used miller, exc. Also you have support from Miller, etc. and you will need it. That thing has problems, probably kiss your money goodbye

This....don't get a machine based on what you are planning on doing today but what you might do in the future (such as welding aluminum). I'd also not waste money on a poor quality machine. I'd spend the extra to get a good quality machine so that you only have to buy once and not have to worry about it in the near future. Not saying Amazon doesn't sell some of that as they might but do your research and don't base it solely on price tag.

Quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten. Buy a name brand (US) welder and if you want to upgrade later it will still have value if you want to sell it IMHO.
