I found these several years ago, and installed them in my SOB ranch truck, but they started to rust and corrode because they were CCC. I found that Camping World has the same loops, but theirs are Stainless.

Do you have saddle tanks? Just know your one location is directly over a driver side tank.

I checked and there's plenty of room to go between the tank and bedside. I can get my hand up in there pretty easy. I plan on going fairly close to the edge.

I always put eye bolts in the bed floor. One at each corner and one immediately in front of and behind the inner wheel well. Around a dollar each at any hardware store and work well.

I was gonna go with eye bolts, but I want something that won't stick up. It probably won't matter, but it's stuck in my head now.

They make those flush mounted eye mounts for trailers that recess in their own mount when not in use.

As long as you don't drive around with stuff on top of the truck, and everyone having an arm out holding it, it's fine.

They make those flush mounted eye mounts for trailers that recess in their own mount when not in use.

I saw those, but I think you have to drill a decent sized hole for the recessed part to sit in. That made me uncomfortable.

So far I've only seen Mexicans doing that with a mattress, but I guess a big dude in a brown 78 chevy holding down his firewood wouldn't surprise me too much.

Thought about adding anchors but I don't like to drill holes into panels if it can be avoided. Was planning on putting D-rings onto the bed mounting bolts.

I saw these today in a ranger. They look factory. Might be able to find some in a junkyard and make them work. Just an idea, I saw them in a truck at work and thought about this thread.

While poking around in the garage this morning I found version 2 of what was going to be front anchor points.

I don't have my truck here to show you how they were to work, but you can imagine it I'm sure. The square cutouts would go over the mounting nuts. I was going to replace the bolts with longer ones so that with the extra length I could simply use a nut and washer to hold the brackets against the front panel of the bed. I also still need to mill in the hold down slots. Clear as mud?!

I'll finally be installing the D-rings tomorrow. I sanded and primed the areas where I'll be installing the anchors to hopefully not cause any more rust than is already there. Now just need to drill 8 holes and tighten down the anchors.
