Hi just wanted to know what this connector is for. As well as if this wiring connection is factory or if someone else did it.

That splice is factory. Proving once again that there is NOTHING wrong with soldering wires if properly done!!

I’m not so sure about the connector. GM normally uses weatherpack type connectors outside of the passenger compartment.

What color wires are in the connector?

Looks like black and pink w black stripe
