Cool truck yo!
I like the 454 as mine has it as well, but if you do a clean swap those can be good too.

Nice truck! I swapped mine a couple years ago, makes the truck so much more enjoyable. I'm curious, what's your rear gear/stall converter combo? Personally, I think I would've gone a little more toward the towing/RV side of cam selection in a dually but that's just me.

Thanks it's a 4:10 rear gear. I'm not sure what converter but the trans shop is getting me a new one for the cam and towing. I gotta have a good sound though, almost went with the elchoppa.

What did you do for an AC compressor? Any pictures?

Got the engine back from the Machine Shop. I'm a little under the weather right now but as soon as I'm better I'm going to start gapping the rings

I made a bench harness and turned off the vatsnkats. I got the obd pro VT. If you get that one it will run you 86 bucks and change and then there will be another charge for two bucks and change because the company is based out of the country or some weirdness. It comes to the house in a few days though.

I followed this video I also turned on both fans at 175 and 180. That app is in celsiou so ya gotta Google convert it to American temperature.

Hopefully it will start and run enough to get it tuned up right.

I got the pistons all cleaned up with some stuff from Amazon called totally awesome cleaner, looks like piss but a 12 hour soak made them brand new again. I'm still sick so I haven't gotten to the rings yet, hopefully Thursday

Subscribed....I'm ok w/ LS swaps but not sold yet for C30 applications that see a lot of hauling/ towing. While is I see lots of new 3500HD's on the road, the guys on the highways seem to be all diesel w/ allison. I only see the gas HD stuff in town.

I think it's a good progress hoping to have it running in a couple of days.

I made my own engine mounts so I was able to use the stock drive shaft I just had to get a conversion joint. Here is the part number to go from the 2005 2500 to the 1986 C 3500

I was also able to fit the stock AC compressor. One thing I'm having trouble figuring out is what suction and discharge hoses I need. I called some places around here to see if anybody can make me some but they don't think they can. Does anybody have any info on what I need to do? Or where to get the proper hoses ?
