Only bad thing about a 12v is the kdp and that takes no time to remedy.

I've owned two Rams. One was a 2003 1500 Laramie. Cranked the torsion bars, put later model 1500 wheels and 275/65/20s. It was real clean aside from a hole that started developing over the wheel well on the passenger bed side.

Towed this thing pretty well through the mountains. I miss that Monte.

I currently own a 2012 2500 ST and its my basic bitch, love this truck. No rust anywhere (and im gonna make sure it stays that way), tuned, deleted, leveled. Added a remote start and kenwood double din.

I doubt that is limited to Dodges. We get a lot of northern trucks down in our area and rust bucket describes them perfectly.

Never have owned a Dodge. They have some good looking designs but I don't trust the fit and finish. Talking to owners, they complain about squeaks, rattles, and random **** falling off. Makes perfect sense that they are owned by Fiat.

2005 dodge Dakota 4 door is my daily. Had it about 9 years now. 159,000 on it. Only thing I had to do was rebuild tranny at 150,000. Been a good truck tho. I like it.

I would love to have a 71-73 Challenger TA clone and a 78 Warlock but, older Dodges are so expensive and everything cost more for them. Havent liked anything from Dodge since and have even heard the Vipers have alot of problems and dont handle well.

Say what you want about a dodge, but the 12v p-pump Cummins is one of the greatest engines of all time. Easily capable of over 700tq or capable of ~25mpg in a full-size. Pretty amazing.

Yep, that is what I say good about Dodges, The 5.9 common rail 12V Cummins makes a great transplant to a Chevy when the Dodge falls apart around it's Cummins.

I've owned a number of the cars with "legendarily reliable" engines; Volvo 240, a couple I-5 20v Audis, I-5 Volvo, 12v cummins, 7.3 power stroke, 350 sbc. I think part of the problem with the stories of everything falling apart around the motor is that people seek these vehicles out for their reliability, then assume that means that NO maintenance need be done. its worse for the 12v because they were often rode hard and put up wet. they are work horses but need some love like everything else. my pops has owned a few cummins trucks (currently a 2017 3500 24v) and I own one (1993 w350 12v) and we've had good experiences. yes the interiors are **** in the earlier ones for sure. you have to keep up on the bushings etc. especially in the front end. there's over a half a ton hanging out up there. same goes for my 7.3 excursion; yes the motor will go and go and go, but that doesn't mean the rubber in the bushings was intended to last a million miles.

I've had a few Dodges, '99 2500 quad cab for instance, loved the motor, hated everything else about the truck. Missed opportunity when I was 16 to pick up a '73 Cuda, still mad at my dad for blocking that one. Can't even look at a basic roller for 10k now . Just picked up a 2005 3500 short bed, 100% different from my '99. Rides nice, gobs of power with decent milage (with proper right foot adjustment, lol), interior layout is great with actual comfy seats and leg and head room. Granted, only has 112k on it and was babied by original owner, but so far, nicest truck I've ever owned.
