97 k1500- tire/alignment issue

Drivers side tire is wearing down on the outside part of the tread. passenger side is just fine. Is this a tie rod or alignment issue?

Could be both, could be a ball joint too. No matter what you replace it would be wise to have it aligned.

I know the steering wheel is shaky at speeds of 55-70 and pulls to left.

sounds about right and the alignment and tie rod fix should remedy that

Jack it up and shake some things and see if there is any play and go from there...

agreed find out if susp. parts or steering parts are bad, then have it aligned. if it's the outside the tie rod can make it toe in or out, forget which way causes the outside to wear, and the rest is caster/camber, forget which is which there too, but your tire is either leaning out at top causing this and need aligned or worn parts.

Went pepboys and got a free alignment about a month ago and it still isnt right. I'm still shaky at speeds around 45mph. Called pepboys and they I'm dealing with a balance issue and the tires might have to be replaced under warranty.

Gotta get 2 front tires replaced cause they were chewed up from not being rotated.
