Strange. We both have '89 Suburbans but the vac ports on the throttle body are different.

Is it because you have a California Burb?

If I had a real video camera I would have filmed the whole project. You guys would have **** seeing and hearing some of the **** that went on to get this done.

NNNOOOIIICCCCEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would have cleaned and painted the whole thing though LOL.

I also woulda ate that pizza, all by myself.

S is that your temp sending unit for the gauge in the head? looks like the cts for the computer, but they are in the intakes, I guess either place works.

nice work buddy looking forward to more pics and progress.
I couldn;t get that plug out of the old head, see it? A 3/8 ratched was too big and a 1/4 ratched was too small. I had nothing else that would fit. So I saved that sensor from the junyard donor intake, and it saved my ass. I was able to plug that hole with it.

That would make the most sense, but from a cost-effective standpoint I can't imagine GM making a different throttle body for the states with emission checks. I bought a second throttle body online and they needed to know the year/make/model but didn't ask if it was for a pollution controlled vehicle.

I thought they all had three ports on the front. All the forum pics I've seen were like mine and until today I didn't know some only had two.

I bought a dodge dakota once from a dealer with a 5.9 magnum v8 and could never figure out why it was such a dog. My buddy had a 318 in his Dakota with a ton more power.

I looked all over dakota forums trying to figure out why my truck was such a ***** and everyone else with a 5.9 had plenty of power.

My truck was sold in California new according to Carfax and was way different than everyone elses 5.9 dakota's!
