I was told by chevytech on 67-72 to not run anything under 195 in a computer controlled vehicle because of the closed loop and crap. I think mines lower and it only goes into that mode when it's like 70 or hotter outside and after a few miles on the highway, around town it never gets warm enough.
I got a 195 to put in mine when I switch hoses and put on the chrome water neck.
I got to pull off the driver's side head and exhaust manifold that I already installed. Looks like I will be breaking out the extra pair of manifold spreaders after all. Should go nice and smooth though since I had it apart already. The pass side is prepped and ready to go. I'll start attcking this **** first thing Saturday morning.so you already got the blcok prepped for the new heads? as in cleaning off the head surfaces and such?
Yeah, he got me a set of Permatourque gaskets. And I need to pick up new exhaust manifold gasket for that side too. The head I put on already looked fine to me. Didn;t see any cracks and the flatness checked out to within specs.they are usually the same, as far as I can remember, just make sure it has bolt holes in the front where you need them. Maybe on some of these newer ones with the water port it might make a difference not sure, so just compare them.
You got one head on already? a bad head? you have to get moe gaskets now?
I was wondering the same thing about the ex gaskets too.as swims said just make sure the bolt holes are the same, but pretty sure they can interchange, i might get bashed for this but i would ruuse the exhaust gasket you put in since it did not have any heat on it
