I know, but i try to steer away from the cliche "youtube" mechanic. And since the build is all new parts, its makes it harder to want to wing it with so much money on the line. . .

I stay clear the eff away from you tube mechanics,my friends will show me the you tube video then I'll show them the right way. But come to think of it,maybe my friends show me the effing quickest short cut wrong stuff because they are lazy. Hmm,never thought of that until right this minute.

It's easy to pick out the hacks from the good ones. Uncle Tony is a good source of info. Myvintageiron7512, is an engine builder. Search, discern, glean the good, forget the bad.

The last time I fully rebuilt an engine I was 15-16. I have worked on alot on stuff through the years to save money and keep it running like my burb though. When I was replacing ball joints, my retired neighbor mechanic encouraged me when I was ready to give up. You do learn as you go. "Ah maybe do that different next time"
I tend to obsess, worry about getting it wrong or in trouble. Plan go for it, learn.
You tube can be good for a particular project, alot of video on same thing, and alot of diy to show you what NOT to do. Entertaining! We should have a thread for that. "Watch this guy use his professional buddy to do his ac 3x" Anyway, continue to seek help, and you will find.

Wow, I didn't see the 100+ previous posts for some reason. That's awesome. We took our engine to a engine shop. You go man! Can't wait to see the finish!
