New to the forum. New to trying to restore anything. My son recently bought an 88 V10 from a friend of mine. It was a play toy. Now it’ll be a daily driver.

I’ve found LMCTruck and they have everything. But some things are just too pricey. i.e. new seats.

I’m finding out that this rig doesn’t have factory seats to begin with. It was originally sent to Regency Custom in Houston. (I believe that’s correct.) Either way it has bucket seats. Driver’s is powered. 2nd and 3rd row are in great shape. Still original blue. Just a little dirty.

Front seats are a different story. I’m looking to repair them and put custom seat covers on them. However, I’m finding lots of good condition seats from different year/models/body styles, even different makes, out there for less than custom seat covers.

Has anyone done a seat swap on one of these or similar? Does it go smoothly? Will different makes like Ford, Dodge, etc fit? Can they be made to fit?

Any help would be great.

Thanks.
Jimmy

There was a thread here the other day where a guy was showing off a seat swap he did where the power leather seats from a Cadillac CTS were a direct fit on the GM Square Bodies that have the 4WD "hump" in the front floorboard. I will see if I can find the thread and drop a link in here later if you're interested.

Welcome from PA! Looks like quite the rig! LMC is indeed a great place to go Square parts shopping, Brothers is a good backup if LMC strikes out sometimes, just my 2 cents

Thanks all for the welcome.

One thing I’m finding difficult to find is video/instruction for rebuilding/repairing anything that has to do with the 2nd row doors on my year model.

I know that the suburban body style didn’t change until 91 whereas the truck changed in 88 (I think).

I’ve also found many parts for my rig say 73-91. But each time I search for rear door stuff it’s mostly 92 and later that shows up. And everything else is only the front door.

Does anyone know of a secret site that somehow pissed off Google in a former life and is therefor blocked or not shown?

Thanks
