First let me say that is a very nice looking truck, especially like the pic of it sitting next to the new ones. lol

I read thru all the comments and the entire post and didn't seem to find the answer. I have done a "few" of these swaps before lol and kind of curious as to what your truck acts like when its locked in 4X4 LOW. Reason is your transmission shifts via the VSS and you installed it before the transfer case in the adapter. I presume that you did it this way to get the signal to the computer and still use the old cable system for your actual speedometer.

Not trying to take anything away from you, because it seems you did a very nice job on the swap. Just trying to make any other follower aware of what to expect when you don't get your signal from the Transfer case output shaft.

Also feel I should point out welding the reluctor ring to the shaft weakens the shaft and under heavy usage and torque can potentially fail quicker.

I appreciate the comments, i dont use 4LO very often, i dont think many people do, but yeah the signal speed is high when in 4LO, but the transfer case output speed signal matches of course, in the rarity that i do use it and need to shift,i just manually shift it with the column shift.
I know theres better ways of gettin this speed signal, and i did LOTS of research beforehand, and this was the best i could come up with at the time. I believe its the 241 t case that works the best for this, but i sure never found one less than 300 bucks. I was 22 at the time and had 3 years of auto wrenchin experience so i think i did pretty good for my first LS swap, especially with the complications of 4 wheel drive. I havent found another 5.3 4l60e Np208 swap in a square yet, so i made due with what i have and it works great !! Long live the Squarebodys !

Sorry if I missed it, what motor mount adapters did you use?

Nice truck, Thanks for all the info you've posted.

I used Dirty Dingo motor mount adapter plates (about 100 bucks)and the stock clamshell rubber mounts on the frame. Worked great, and has plenty of adjustment for trans possibilites
