Purchased a dream truck. 87 k10 shortbox fully load 4x4.
Truck had some front end damage but still runs and drives. Purchased with pure adrenaline and excitement. I knew I had a project to work on but I realized the other day the frame is bent and has a small rip on the driver's side top rail. I'm hoping to find someone in the wtb with a good used frame. This will give me the opportunity to powder coat the frame and build up. Anyone know what year frames will work other than the 87 frame

You need a 81-87 frame. Could use a longbed frame in a pinch and shorten it. I'd have a frame shop look at your frame before you changed it out.

81 to 87 frames are a direct swap, but I believe the 73 to 80 short box frame would work too. Might just have to make some holes that weren't there before.
Best bet is either have yours repaired, or buy a whole donor truck cheap.
Like previously mentioned, FB marketplace is a good place to look.
Theres a 78 short bed frame at my local junkyard right now, but its 2wd.

Hi and welcome. As far as front end hits and a squarebody go, that is barely a scratch. lpl Take it to a body shop with a frame rack to haveit repaired and save yourself a $hit ton of work.

Seeing how this is a dream truck... and the possibility of having to do a frame swap. Get an estimate, but have a estimate of just a rolling chassis and an as it sits. Obviously, the rolling chassis will be cheaper but you will get a better product in the end as the tech can see the ripples and any other hidden damage. Plus it will be easier to take measurements.
