Hi everyone! New to the forum, just Picked up a black 1987 Silverado Suburban.
It’s got a rebuilt 350 sb - 700r4 transmission. 4x4 w/ 1 ton axles. It’s kind of a mystery truck! Guy I bought it from got it on a trade. Hoping you guys can help me figure it out as we go!! I Love square bodies!!!

Welcome and thanks for joining. Post more pics please, and underneath so we can see what's going on.

Are you going o keep this beauty a mall cruiser or will you work it off road? If so, how serious do you want to get in the off road functionality game?

Do you know what gears are in the diffs? This info is required to determine tire size. And having a 700 tranny you want to keep it 'revy'.

Thanks, I definitely want to have the Cruiser-Hot rod- Off roader Trifecta!!!, but I do realize its a lot to ask of an 87' classic sub. I posted a full under side photo shoot, check it out let me know what you think.

P.S. it wasn't me that got her all dirty, its how it came. I'll wash everything once I get the driver window regulator in. Please don't mind the mess.

And yes in fact that a D60 up front and GM 14 bolt in the back.

Front suspension looks bomber, but the rear could be improved. First thought would be shackle reverse and loose or seriously reduce th big lift block. In sand for example you could get part breaking wheelhop with the torque generated by that 'lever' (lift block).

And it looks like you might have 3/4 ton K2500 front discs... which is a lesser known mod for better brake modulation and weight savings... but still a juice brake with ample tire screeching ability.

Somebody knew something that built this truck.

Is the front anti-sway bar gone?
