I finally got my Scottsdale down to the detailer for a 2 stage paint correction and ceramic coat. it’s the original paint so I’m going for the patina look on the outside with new trim and Accessories (I’ll update photos as more gets done)

After removing the camper the paint was worn down around the back cab where the seal of the camper was also some surface rust under the window. I removed the back window sanded the damage area. Then I used a rust dissolver and rust converter to stop the rust followed by primer and paint

That's going to look great. So the goal is glossy as possible, and whatever primer shows through, will simply show through? No exposing primer in more areas on purpose? If so, I like it!

This does bring up a question for me though because I keep hearing it more and more often. When did it start being called the fancy sounding "paint correction"? It used to be just called a buff job.

I'm going to guess you can charge more for a "paint correction" than a buff job.

So a buff job is pretty vague term. There are more then one type of ways to buff.
A color correction is a term used to describe all buffing steps to eliminate paint flaws and imperfections.
basically a color correction is multi step process to make the paint perfect

I know it's a vague term and all, I was just wondering when "paint correction" terminology came about, or maybe it was just a regional thing for a while. A while back, a friend of mine with a GTI told me he was going to drop it off to get a "stage one paint correction" and I was like, WTF are you talking about, lol. He explained it to me and I said "oh, so you just want it buffed, polished and whatever other steps are needed to remove the minor scratches". At the time, I just thought it was a new term used by the "sophisticated car" people to differentiate themselves from the others.

But the term is popping up more often now. I guess I'm unsophisticated, haha.

It seems like a fancy term to get more money from you. Like janitors are engineers and grease monkeys are technicians type of thing.

Probably around the same time that something catching fire became a "thermal event" lol.

Subscribing.

Have a similar project. Debating on replacing the trim.

Need to fix rock chips below the trimline. How was the blend process? Any close ups of the final result?
