I'll need to replace the side molding on my '81- it's a Scottsdale and the correct molding would be the black center/silver outer strips. I'm not super attached to keeping it model correct. Which one do you prefer, the black or all chrome/silver, and why? Thanks in advance.

I used the 3M black with chrome edges on mine. It matches the bed corner metal pieces that were still good.
Here's some like it, but when I bought mine about 4 years ago, it was quite a bit cheaper.

I used some 3M primer too.

Black and silver. That's what I want to go on mine eventually.

Mine's a Scottsdale so that I could get the vinyl flooring but opt up to a "Silverado" appearance on the outside.

B85 gets you the Silver side trim and V22 for the quad headlight grille.

Chrome/silver if the other accents on the truck matches the strips

I think that, after looking at others, I'm going to go the full chrome. It already has the chrome wheel arch trim, and rather than cover up the drilled holes for the bed rails, I'm going to get another set (not sure if they're chrome or brushed aluminum) but I think that will fit the truck a little better.

Be cool to see before and after pictures once you're done. Hopefully the trim should be reasonable to find if you're on a budget

Absolutely. I'm also going to mess around with doing some time lapse video with my GoPro. My buddy is a real pro at doing that kind of stuff with his- he does mountain bike trail maintenance, and he does time lapse stuff and it's really cool to see the before and after using that method.

I was going to go original chrome/silver, but the chrome/black WFO posted looks pretty nice!
