This is so bad ass. The 1979 Trans Am is my all-time favorite American car. I loved these things when I was a kid and this was BEFORE I ever saw Smokey & The Bandit.

Smokey and the Bandit was where I 1st saw the Trans Am, and my 1st was a black '77.

The second gen to me IS what a Trans Am is, which is ironic as my 1st ever brand new car was a 4th Gen white '99.

Man did those 2nd gens get expensive...

soo somethings have happened, underhood harness got figured out since all ends were cut. I also got in pedals, column, throttle cable, wiring etc. Also inner fenders.I have ordered more parts as well, battery cables, power steering hoses, belts, lower rad.hose, brake booster and master. Goal 1 now, starting and shutting off via the key. Goal 2, brakes working.

BTW there will be more videos, I've got them set to premiere tomorrow and the next day. There may even be one the day after if I film tomorrow.

Some fat snowflakes on that ride.

WS6 wheels were 8 inches wide, so I guess aftermarket ones and 10 inches.

?

Looks great!

:happy107:

81 ? I see the console hole is missing.

Great eye on all that. 9" wide wheels and just 275s for now. I really regret not going custom 18x10 snowflakes now. But I hated the stock wheels even though they are in great shape.

And yup, 81 with 52k now. Trying not to scratch the itch for a turbo 5.3 or maybe a 4.8 and bore it out and turbo that so I can still claim a 4.9l turbo trans am :p

I get some aggressive offers on it but it's not going anywhere.

Only 52K ? That's a survivor- I'd leave it as Pontiac built it.

If ya need a "hot rod", I got a 99 Camaro SS you could talk me out of...

My cousin bought a 78 that was poorly painted blue, had all the interior apart and only half the pieces were wiht it,
it had barely any exhaust
And he got it because he wanted to swap his 8..4? engine to it(Im just saying if someone retains their batteyr cables with screws into the post and installs hood pins but doesnt even line up the hold on the one side properly and isnt symmetrical or (square) to the core support under it... like he install the pin over a hump so it was crooked... only on one side. and he has to manuall crank the headlights up because it was the only way. no electrical, no extra switch(from someones weird attmempts) just the housings with a crank and shot electric (or vac?)

He paid 3000
the first 10 minutes he owned it I said oh decent, he said price, i didnt respond, i looked under the car and I opened his door and put his seat forward and lifted a piece of carpet.
you could play paddy cakes with the structural stuff that the diff would be mounted to(i dont remember if full frame, cross frame, etc)) and he said "oh"

"at least it has a 400"(he wanted that too)

it wasnt a pontiac or a 400. it was a small ci 300-some oldsmobile from the mid 80s with a 2 barrel.

He had buyers remouse.

I had remouse for my familial ties
