Hi yall. Been lurking around here for awile. Ive had a few squares over the years, kinda undecided about some stuff. Figured I would ask yalls opinions.

Few months back I picked up my 79 C30. Crew cab. 454/th400. Az truck. Been working on getting it squared away for tow pig duty for pulling my 84 K10 mud truck.

Im @ a crossroads here. I just pulled the janky old headers off to replace em with a new set from jegs. So, ive already got the headers, and motor mounts out. Heres where the twist comes in. My buddy just called me, he has a complete 5.3/lm7 pull out. Harness, pcm, most of the parts to swap it in.

Heres the question, should I just pull and sell the 454/th400 and buy and swap in the 5.3, and the 4l80e ive already got sitting in my garadge?

Or just pull the 454 and inspect and reseal it.

The other thing is the 5.3 pcm will run the 4l80e. A controller for it costs more than the complete 5.3, pcm, harness combo..... Opinions? Input?

Heres a pic of the truck. Its under construction.

You should part the whole thing out. Where do I send my "parts needed" list?

Those are for the tow bar, we flat towed that big bitch home. Skeeetchy AF. There was more weight on the front of the c30 than there was on the rear of my buddies mega cab cummins. Talk about the tail wagging the dog! Lol

Me most likely. Getting ready to build a rear bumper and am going to add some on it. Those would be nice from the first pic, id just have to have them front and rear. How long till they arrive
