78 K5 Gas Mileage

I'm getting about 15 mpg in my 85 K20. Yup, another decade or so and the increased mileage will pay for the Pro-flo efi and nv4500 swap. LOL. In the meantime, I just enjoy that it drives like a modern vehicle....and the "cool" factor.

I could kick myself...when I was younger I'd throw away the stock air cleaner and bolt on a chrome open element.
Loved flipping the lid on the stock air cleaner and hear the fuel go bye bye!

I already have a 4L60. Unfortunately the roads here don't allow me to get into O/D often.

Tremic is a 6 speed manual..should still improve you fuel mileage.

Okay wheres your timing at? If you aren't timed optimally it will cost you more in mpg than you would believe.Let me know how it was timed,where your vacuum advance is hooked up,and how much centrifugal you have in the distributor.

I really liked Austria when work sent me twice. Got to spend 6 weeks in Salzburg and then another 6 weeks in Villach. I'd go back in a heartbeat. Really enjoyed everything there.
