OK I’ve been fighting everything on this truck right down to the window crank handles. Previous owner said they replaced the window regulators. The two crank handles aren’t deep enough for the clip to engage in the slot. I ordered two new ones from LMC same thing. I asked them to cross-reference maybe I have a different year regulator to see if the depth changed? -
I see 73 was one year only for window crank and handle.
- from the end of my shaft to clip slot area is 3/8 in.
- the handle is 1/4 to the slot.
Anyone else run into this what do I have here?! thanks

I got my replacements at O'reilly in the help section. No issues. There may be an issue with the regulators if they were somehow replaced, that were not for the 74.

If all else fails you could take your cutoff wheel to the shaft and shorten it some.

That was my exact comment to the letter. Trim off what you need then bevel the tip and hit the splines real quick with a file.
Viola problem solved.

Might even be able to just hit the end with a fresh flap wheel.

Before you order any thing, put the clip on the handle and then push it on. If you have to use a small flat tip, or needle nose to clip the clip in place.

well a combination of cutting off the beveled end and dremmel tool on the handle to make the splines continue all the way down did the trick. Cant believe LMC didn't even have an answer for me. My guess is 73 regulators or earlier?... oh well. Good thing its not a blue ribbon restoration!

There appeared to be casting flash inside (at the bottom) of the splines.

Glad you got it going.
