When I was looking for replacement doors, I was also told that the '77 and up didn't have the same curvature as the '73-'76.
Could have been a bad rumor, but I didn't want to take the chance and passed on some good '77s.

I got a set of doors from a 75 cc to put on my 87 cc, they fit well enough that I couldn't see anything wrong. These were just gotten to keep the rain out since my doors needed windows, and we're fairly cheap. I have not driven it down the road so I can't say they won't whistle though.
