Has anyone used an LMC vinyl/foam original style dash pad with good results? I need a dash pad for my 79 K20. USA1 and Cheyenne are out of stock right now so I have been looking at the LMC dash pad.

Just installed one in my '80 no complaints yet, model number 38-8127-BL. I do still need to install the gauge bezel and screw it down but everything seems to mock up fine.

I re-used the mounting clips from my original dash and had to trim some of the foam away from the clip holes, other than that it popped right in.

Thanks everyone. I'm glad to hear that they seem to be good. I will be ordering one. Thanks for the picture.

I just installed one from truck and car shop out of CA. It was cheaper than LMC and looks great, and they had quick shipping. Worth calling them about as the prices on their website are not up to date.

Did the cluster bezel fit ok and did the LH vertical pad fit reasonably tight to the dash frame? The one I bought the dash bezel area was a mess and the left side angled out.

The only issue that I would say was a little off is the top left corner of the dash bezel. I am not sure if the dash pad does not stick out quite far enough or if my bezel just isn't fit tight all the way in. But the top left corner of my dash bezel basically sits flush with the dash and it is not recessed much. It is hard to tell by the picture but I did take on that might show what I am talking about. Everything else fit fine. My truck is a mish mash of parts from multiple trucks so I can't confirm if the issue is with the new dash or the bezel I have. If it were a show truck it would be a different story. I also have not screwed the screw in that goes into the side near the passenger door. Everything fits tight so I don't think it is needed but it might help with keeping stress from the other screws and the clips as it gets driven.

It's hard to tell from the picture being a straight on shot, but the bezel is recessed a little in that section but not much at all.

Yeah, that's the area it fit so badly. Could only get a couple original screws started. Think I am going to try a Truck Store pad. The one you have isn't much better.

Canceled the order from USA1 this morning. I ordered and paid for it on Sept 9th. Now they are saying no estimated delivery date at all after saying it will be delivered on Jan 6th. Even if the quality is decent that's no way to run a business.

Am going to call TS Tuesday and quiz them a little bit.

Dont overlook that 73 to 80
Are not all the same.
79 and 80 have a window cut out for the vin number
That is on the lower left under the windsheild.
If you put a 73 to 78 dash on a 79 or 80 it will cover the vin number.

Hard to prove ownership with no vin showing

@CalSgt you have a show truck and you are satisfied with the LMC pad? We are in same boat as @fast 99 with USA 1. Waiting since December Easton is not building a show truck so I’m sure he would be happy with the one you have since we are doing a knock off of your build… NOT!

Ordered one from LMC. Will report on fit and quality. Tried TS twice today, got stuck on hold listening to Mariachi band music.

Thanks for the complement, it’s a show truck on a budget. There May have been a few compromises from what I would have done if I had more money but the dashboard isn’t one of them. It fits, looks nice and shipped when I ordered it.

I’ve been more picky on the things that I have direct control over. Primarily my own attitude and efforts.

ETA: Young Easton is definitely doing a fine job, it doesn’t matter if he’s building a show truck or just getting one road worthy. It’s his attitude and effort applied that will ultimately reward him with personal satisfaction and appreciation.

I watched one of my cousins get practically given a truck build similar to how mine was 25 years ago. He never appreciated the cost, effort, or skill that went into it. To this day I don’t think he’s ever really appreciated anything. I don’t suspect Easton will have that problem…

I hear you. When he decided to do this my wife and I talked a lot about cost verses reward, dependability and the amount of time it was going to take. We could have talked him out of it and told him to buy a dependable turn key truck as he had money but this is what he wanted to do. We decided that it was his budget, mom and dad have some skin in the game but it’s been his deal work and struggles and frustration. To us it was never really about the truck, it was more about the life skills along the way. It has paid huge dividends so far and I hope it continues to teach that hard work pays off. He has learned so much, and we have met some many people that are willing to help him which has really gave him a glimpse at what it truly means to have a servant heart…..

And you guys here are a part of it as well. Especially helping me when we are stuck. Sure makes me look a lot smarter than I am to my kid… y’all are all humble and so kind…
