Ever notice how well the bumpers age?
I've got a collection of about 10 gm vehicles, and all the bumpers are in great shape.
Anyone have any idea who and by what process the bumpers were chromed?
Amazing after nearly 50 years..their still rust free.

At one time GM used to chrome their own bumpers. The chemicals used are no longer legal in this country, for the most part. That's why all the new chrome sucks.

I'm working on a pole barn where I can setup a paint booth.
I keep thinking to spend the cash on a fine interior and keep the original patina alone.
Since I have so many vehicles IllI'never have enough cash to finish them all.
I just have a love for original vehicles that were well taken care of.
They all run and drive..mechanical excellent..except 50 years has taken its toll on the body panels.
