Im planning on running 295/50-15's on the back and 205's on the front(some short, skiney tire).

A calculator said with 4.11's and 27" tires ill run about 3.4k so i would be running about 3.75k

Got somewhat of a reference for you:
My dads been building an 1980 Vette with a 377 de-tuned late model motor, JE flat tops, 10.5:1?, Iron block and heads, don't know much else other than it was dynoed at something like 425hp/410tq. Has a built th350 w/ 2900 stall / semi-manual valve body / 3:90 gears 275/45R17s and turns around 3k ish at 65-70. The 3:90's are way to low... honestly the car would probably do 180 with a long enough stretch of road and a big enough pair of nads, but doesn't get off the line worth a **** :shitsweak:

Impala SS guys are converting to T56 6speeds and running anywhere from 3:73 to 4:56 gears. with 5th and 6th both being overdrives you get the best of both worlds. With 4L60E's they move from the stock 3:08's to either 3:42 or 3:73.

I would like to see pics as well. '72 Chevelle's are one of my favorite cars of all time.

Oh and it needs a 396. :worship: But those are big $$ compared to a 350.

If i was gonna go 396, i would have to find a 69 or earlier 396, Cause 70+ is actually not a true 396(its bored over from the factory).

So you dont think about the chevelles with 540"s or 706"s?

no personally i think if you are building a drag car go for it, otherwise its a waste of time and money. not every car has to be able to rip the tires off lmao

Don't get me wrong I'll gladly take either, but if given the choice I'll take the period correct 427. Otherwise I would even like a Chevelle or Nova with a 307.

I'd rock a '70 Chevelle with a 307 if it was in nice enough shape. I've been itching to get a '70 for such a long time by the time I'm ready to buy one I'll take whatever as long as it's in nice shape whether it has a 307 or a 454!!!
