Thank you for the opportunity to ask for Help!

I am trying to buy a replacement V.R.V. for a 1985 Chevrolet C 10 , 6.2 Diesel
The AC Delco # 17072338 is stamped on the original part.

I have tried GM and other sources , no success.

The closest "visual match" I have found on line is AC Delco # 23500822 .
The info says 1987, 1988 trucks / doesn't mention 1985.
What would the difference be ?

Would this # 23500822 work ?

What I understand the purpose of this unit is to reduce vacuum from 18 " to approximately 8".
As well it would relate to the throttle position and then by adjustment it would affect transmission shifting ...if what I've read is clear.

For clarification the VRV bolts on the fuel pump, on top, towards front of the engine. It has 2 adjustable mounting slots,
Not to add to confusion but the T400 automatic has been swapped out by previous owner and now has a TH350
If that matters to the VRV or not ?

Part removed as shown here:
2 vacuum nipples as well a short wiring harness with 2 wires in it.
You must be registered for see images attach

I will appreciate any advice to finding a replacement or a substitute application.

Thanks for now.

Does the THM350 have a vacuum modulator on it? If not, you don't need the position sensor on the pump.

Thanks, that's where I'm planning my retirement.

Those valves are getting really scarce. However, any one you find will probably work. Even one off an Olds diesel. I've never had a THM350 so not that familiar. Does it have any electrical connections? I think some may have had locking converters. If that's the case you'll need one with the electrical component. Good luck with the search.
