I have yet to experience a T56 in a truck. I put one in my '86 Iroc-z and I'm currently putting together a '79 Camaro with a T56 as well. Next up will be my "84" big block C10. Potentially with a mini blower on it too, depending on if I get another stock F-body trans or if I get an upgraded unit.
From the little bit of research they make a model of T56 suited for trucks, i think its the super magnum, but I may be wrong

I got one in the SS but, that's much different than a square. I'd like to see it. Just don't want to dd it. Love a good stick drive, just not every day. Lol

My 502 (retarded timing, not tuned completely), drank 1 gallon of 93 in like, 20 minutes of idling and pushing the skinny for test runs. :anitoof::happy160:

Enjoy.
It ran that long????o_O:crazy::happy175:

You know, with a big block installed in my '82, I found out that traction bars were needed to keep the rear axle planted.

Traction bars are necessary for big tires or big hp :)

I've learned to pedal my Chevelle, but it seems the clutch doesn't like it much!!!!....Plus the urethane bushings in the rear control arms help a bunch!

Ever since I put the BBC 454 in my 82 taking off from stop signs has become really fun. :burnout:

A set of thumpers is all it takes stop spring wrap. These, custom built, replace the spring saddles and are long to push right on the spring eye. (poor pictures)

Love the 454 swap I did to the 73, replacing a 325 HP 350. Same mileage, (keep your foot out of it!), pulls a trailer effortlessly, smokes the 33's most excellently, blows stock TH350's though. You will need to really build a TH350, or even a TH400 some. 4l80 is the way I am going, so consider the trans in the swap. If you are nice to the gas peddle, most anything will work just driving around, and when I was younger, I just could not keep my foot out of it. I thought getting older, this would fade....NOT. Welcome!!
Go with a Turbo 400. The Turbo 350 isn't really for Big Blocks, the Turbo 400 is STOCK Big Block capable.
