I'm about to tear down the big block for my 76 c20 and see where the knock I am having is coming from. How much does it cost to have a stock rebuild done. I realize that it's different everywhere and depends on how much machining has to be done. Just trying to get a idea. Thanks in advance.

I'm going to disassemble myself and I'm wanting to assemble but don't have tools to check bearing clearances. I'll prob have them install cam bearings just because I heard that can be a pain. This will be my first build so I'm going to take it slow.

Cam bearings are easy but you need the tool to install them and it's not cheap, if you're not gonna do motors all the time better off letting the machine shop put them in, just make sure that they clean all the oil passages first.... Yes, don't rush or it could cost you double down the road..
