TSD comes back as a 75-77 454. Low hp version. Not really sure what else you need to know about it.

Gen IV 65-90 all the same (87-90 were TBI but still had fuel pump provision with block off plate)
Gen V 91-95 (TBI, no mech. fuel pump provision) (adapting older heads will require specific head gasket to prevent coolant leaking into oil)
Gen VI (Vortec 7.4/7400) 96-00 (has mech. boss but most likely not drilled heads can be adapted to older Gen IV block)

so 90 and newer are gen 4 or just the ones
with out a fuel pump boss or a clutch z bar pivet boss ??
I had a 454 out of a 1992 motor home that an mechanical fuel pump

That is very possible. Motorhome chassis did get the Mark 3 left overs.

I know there's peanut port and square port heads for 454 but not sure about compatibility, hoping someone chimes in for you. I think the peanut ports are the ones you don't want, too restrictive.

Depends.... unless it's a new gen block, the 454/396 platform remains virtually the same. Peanut ports are for trucks, the made torque, Square ports were for Chevelles and Nova's. "Hi Perf" heads are pretty standard and most people will tell you they are rare,,,,, bull pucky. They are relatively common.

Yep, the peanut ports are nothing more than low end grunt truck heads. They fall flat on their face at about 4000 rpm. Heads are out there. The older you can find the better. And don't be afraid of 396 heads. Those will actually be the better heads to have. 72 up passenger car heads will be better than the truck heads, but by 72 they had the NOx bumps in the heads for emissions. Also the older heads are more likely to be smaller combustion chambers giving you some fair or better compression. Careful how much you spend on the heads by the time you buy them, then put them in the machine shop to have all the work done that you might want. By the time you do all that, you could have almost bought a good set of Aluminum aftermarket heads ready to bolt on and really wake that motor up.

Scientific wild ass guess:

T = engine built at Tonawanda, NY plant
6 = 1976
F = car or truck was built at Flint. MI plant
724927 = last six digits of vehicle VIN

FYI, as mentioned by 85c10owner above, the big block families are Mark IV, Gen V and Gen VI. Mark III never went into production. it would have been a variant of a Packard V-8 engine with 5" bore centers.
