I'm thinking probably an SM465 if it came in his 78 donor truck with an inline 6 and a 4 speed. Though 3 speed manuals were common behind I6's but not all for sure. IF it's an SM465, hell yes people still use them.

I just sold my 2wd 465. Got tired of tripping over it.

Last one I bought for $50 came with bell housing that was from an 87 that a guy did an NV4500 upgrade. It was drilled for the infamous A833 4 speed and the clutch assembly. Sold the SM465 for $100 and gave the clutch to buddy who was in a pinch on funds. He used it and it worked fine.

last one I had nobody wanted so I cut off the front input shaft to use later on as an alignment tool and scrapped the rest. Gave one away hooked to a motor too. someone running one might want it for a spare.

Yeah, they're definitely one of those pieces that you'll sit on for a while before finding a buyer for it. Mine was posted for a few months, before it sold. Guy wanted an extra to rebuild, so he could keep driving the truck it was going in.

Thanks guys, maybe I'll throw it on CL and see what happens for a week or so, and if nothing I'll just leave it hooked up the IL6 and send it all to the scrapper, I'm running out of room, lol...

Put it in bloody stool.:D

Oh, hell yeah! Can't get more basic and non-technical than an inline 6 infront of a dump truck trans. You'll love it!
